• 500 hours of clinical experience

• 17 years of experience offering an accelerated nursing program
  

• Students successfully completing the program are eligible to take the Nursing Candidate Licensure Examination (NCLEX)

• Meets the requirements for public health nurse registration in Minnesota

• Provide nursing care in accordance with Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice (ANA, 2015) and Nursing's Social Policy Statement: The Essence of the Profession (ANA, 2010)

John's main reason for choosing Concordia was because all the coursework was in-person. "It is imperative for nursing and other healthcare fields." Concordia has great clinical opportunities in the unique area. "I have really been impressed by the program." After the program, John is looking forward to a nursing career at Regions Hospital Burn Unit in St. Paul, Minnesota.

John's advice for future students...

If you're still taking prerequisites, lean into your Anatomy & Physiology courses - they are imperative for doing well." All prerequisites are important, but A & P and Developmental Psychology seemed especially important.

If you have some clinical experience (CNA, scribe, personal care technician) prior to the program it will help you to be more comfortable when starting clinical rotations.

Be prepared - the curriculum is rigorous, so you need to have good time management skills and know your priorities. You are doing two years of coursework in one, so things other than school might need to sit on the back burner. If you want to do well, you need to devote yourself to the program. The 12-month timeline is demanding, but worth it.
