Brady's advice for future students:
If you want to work in the Fargo-Moorhead area, there is potential to connect with people in different clinicals and guest speakers from class. Being part of Concordia gives you a level of acceptance in the community. People know, Concordia holds a high standard for its graduates.
Stay open and be receptive to what your educators are saying and what they're doing to help you improve. Be open-minded and willing to try new things.
Brady's interest in pursuing a nursing career comes from personal experiences. With his mom an RN and two kids, he experienced firsthand the impact good nurses have on patient care. Brady is hoping to land a job as a pediatric nurse or work in the ICU, and in the future, he may be interested in a leadership role, becoming a nurse practitioner, nursing education.
He believes having a family has made him a better student. It forced him to focus and not procrastinate. He treats his school days like a 9-5 job and just stays after class to get his work done. It's all about making and finding the time and prioritizing. Brady chose Concordia because it is a 12-month, in-person program.
Brady appreciates the manageable class sizes, the connections with his cohort, and having the opportunity to get to know the professors at Concordia. "They make a lot of effort to get you through the process. You can just tell that they want the best for you. Dr. Anderson was my advisor, and she really cared about what I was doing, who I was, and my goals. A huge positive for Concordia is the intimacy; you know people and they know you."
